Bio

Denise Antonucci, principal of A.S.I., uniquely combines her design talents with the ability to communicate effectively with each client. Every project is a true collaborative effort with her clients. She has broad artistic ability, blending color, fabrics, carpet design, furniture, lighting, art and the environment to take each project from the initial design concept through to a fresh, inviting completion, all within an agreed upon schedule.      

Antonucci has over 20 years experience in residential and commercial projects that include interiors design, renovations as well as new construction.  Many long term client relationships have grown over the years with multiple residences as client lifestyles change and evolve. She has worked together with clients on projects throughout the U.S., with recent engagements including: 

• NAPA valley vineyard home
• Gold Coast mansion of classical architecture to hold client's private antique collection
• revitalization of common areas of Michigan Avenue condominiums to work within the architectural style of the buildings
• custom lighting for a private yacht
• total renovation of a two-story Lincoln Park condominium as well as many Lake Shore Drive residences
• total reconstruction and custom design of Gold Coast penthouse
• renovation of homes on the North Shore and Lake Geneva
• many projects for busy families, couples and individuals who want to take their dream ideas and make them a reality

After receiving her BA, Antonucci began her business career at the Board of Trade. She then decided to pursue her artistic abilities at the Art Institute of Chicago and later took a BFA in interior design while apprenticing for a renowned designer. She has been an avid sailor and golfer and enjoys her charity work. According to Antonucci, "Our clients' lifestyles and personalities are our window to the world of designing unique environments."

Jerry Sanfilippo is a Chicago native and graduate of The Harrington School of Design. After graduating from Harrington, Sanfilippo worked as a project manager for some of Chicago's leading designers and has worked in the industry for over 30 years. He created ASI Interiors, Inc. with long time colleague, Antonucci, in 1995 and has experienced a very rewarding business and creative relationship. Sanfilippo recently purchased a home in Palm Springs, California and will be expanding ASI Interiors, Inc. to Southern California.

Design Philosophy

A.S.I. Interiors, Inc. design principals Denise Antonucci and Jerry Sanfilippo have a reigning philosophy of interior design that is evident in all their work: That a successfully conceived and executed interior should be a reflection of the client, not the designer.

With more than 20 years of experience working under some of Chicago's leading interior designers, the young, yet seasoned Antonucci and Sanfilippo formed A.S.I. Interiors, Inc. with the goal of creating a working environment in which the clients' particular needs, lifestyle and taste become the driving forces behind a project. This approach has not only resulted in residential and commercial interiors of timeless and effortless elegance, but has also allowed the two designers the opportunity to develop and refine a broad expertise in a variety of design styles, from traditional to cutting-edge contemporary to urban eclecticism. With their strong command of color, texture and proportion, Antonucci and Sanfilippo create striking environments that are highly personable and livable–a backdrop for the client's lifestyle, not another showcase interior for the designers' portfolio.

In addition to a unique approach to a project's creative challenges, A.S.I. offers a fully integrated design team for a totally turn key operation when requested. The team of design professionals is well equipped to handle any size or type of project, from one room to an entire house. Recent residential projects range from penthouse apartments/condos and yachts to suburban estates, while commercial interiors include a spa, boutique, corporate jet and commercial lobbies. A.S.I. also has the flexibility to work with the client's own architect or space planner.

Antonucci and Sanfilippo know that their clients' time is valuable. On every project, the two principals work directly with the client and remain fully involved through its completion. A client's main contact is with them–not an assistant. Not only are Antonucci and Sanfilippo passionate about what they do, but they believe their clients benefit from their accessibility and hands-on approach. And, having worked with many high-profile individuals, with their experience comes an understanding for the need for privacy and confidentiality.

Both Antonucci and Sanfilippo are members of the American Society of Interior Designers (A.S.I.D.).
