 In 2005, Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. debuted Designer Portfolios, offering an online venue in which interior designers can promote themselves and their services, including their design philosophy and style, photography of projects, fee structure, contact information and more. Since its inception, 43 designers have joined our program. Cary Frank, principal, Cannon Frank, recently joined and is already seeing results, commenting, “Our designer portfolio has only been up a few weeks, and we already received a lead from it.

The Designer Portfolio program lends more credibility to my interior design business, and the profession as a whole.” The Merchandise Mart Design Center conceived and implemented Designer Portfolios in order to create a comfortable, easy-to-use tool for consumers to find and learn about interior design professionals, in particular those who support The Mart showrooms. The program also provides consumers tips to work with a designer. The ASID Illinois Chapter Third Annual Celebration of Design Gala will be held at The Merchandise Mart, 8th-floor Atrium at 7 p.m. Mask and black tie are optional.
