Bio
William Collins has over 20 years of design industry experience creating showroom and residential environments, products and furniture. After receiving a degree in Theater he moved to Chicago to design sets. Creating artful illusions led to an exploration of materials and a passion for beautiful objects. He created his own curriculum and attended The School of the Art Institute, Columbia College and UIC to study furniture, product and exhibit design. Positions with luxury purveyors Elements, Inc., Thomas Job, Inc. and Kohler Co. have allowed him to work with some of the nation’s most influential design talents.
Collins joined Kohler Company in 2005 to consult on the development of The KOHLER Store, the company’s flagship retail store. In his current role as senior designer, he works with homeowners to design edited, functional and beautiful bathrooms.
The KOHLER Store inspires great bathroom design. Design consultants have created more than 500 beautiful bathrooms across the country. The goal is to provide the very best experience for the customer including technical expertise, space planning, tile layouts and products customers can experience first hand. The KOHLER Store consultants can create the bathroom of your dreams at any budget. The KOHLER Store provides one-stop shopping including KOHLER brands such as Kallista and Robern, plus exclusive store offerings such as KOHLER Surfaces and custom vanities.
Notable work includes bathroom designs for the first Chicago LEED certified platinum home, model home designs for a LEED certified community, bathroom designs featuring the first digital showering environment and design consultation for Elysian residents.
