Bio
Professionalism and service with a personal touch along with the ability to balance the creative and business aspects of a client’s goal is what interior designer, Jeannie Balsam strives to accomplish with each project.
Chicago native, Glencoe resident, Balsam travels extensively with her family in search of inspiration. Favorite inspirational destinations include Nantucket, Napa Valley, Austin, Mexico and Europe.
Balsam studied in Italy and earned her MBA from Loyola University. Prior to starting Jeannie Balsam, LLC in 2000, she honed her creative, analytical and project management skills in corporate marketing and consulting positions for Hyatt Hotels and Accenture.
Jeannie has been a popular guest contributor to the Chicago Sun Times “Designers Eye”. Her work has appeared in Pioneer Press Home & Design Section, the 2007 Winnetka Woman’s Club Housewalk, the 2009 Lake Forest Showhouse & Gardens and is the recent proud recipient of the Winnetka Preservation Award in the New Construction category presented by the Winnetka Landmark Preservation Commission. She is also among the nominees for the 2009 “Ones to Watch” award sponsored by the Design Center at The Merchandise Mart.
